Daniel Sexton Gurney (April 13, 1931 – January 14, 2018) was an American racing driver, race car builder and team owner who reached the pinnacle of motorsport as early as 1958. Gurney has won races in Formula 1, Indy Car, NASCAR, Can -Series Am and Trans-Am. Only three drivers have ever won races in sports cars (1958), Formula 1 (1962), NASCAR (1963) and Indycar (1967). Dan Gurney was the first one to achieve this feat.
