Brawn GP was the surprise of 2009. Following Honda’s decision to withdraw from Formula 1 at the end of 2008, Ross Brawn acquired the team, negotiated the purchase of Mercedes engines and renamed the team and the 2009 Honda-designed single-seater in his name. Rubens Barrichello and Jenson Button dominated the early part of the season, with Button taking the Drivers’ World Championship and Brawn GP the Constructors’ World Championship.
Ross Brawn will sell the team back to Mercedes at the end of the season.
